Danner Mountain Light II or Mountain Light are my favorite (Don't let the name fool you, they are not light) full leather with gortex They require break inso don't just slap them on and go for a long hike (Cabelas used to make a copy/version as well, which I also love) These are over 10 years old in this photoDanner makes several "Mountain Light " models, but the original is the only one built to the full 1979 specs, and is totally worth the price in my experience The GoreTex makes them effectively waterproof (unless you chop a hole in the side with an axe), and the folded tongue design keeps snow, sand, gravel and salt out of the inside
